Ntungamo RDC cautions locals against overspending during Christmas.

Ntungamo resident district commissioner David Kaboyo has called on locals to desist from lavish spending during the festive season.
Kaboyo who was this afternoon speaking at an childhood education technical workshop aimed at laying strategies for home learning held in Ntungamo district council hall revealed that it does not make sense for people to overspend during Christmas and then struggle to survive in the next year.
He revealed that families often spend a lot of money and later on struggle to afford meals which he says must be avoided.
The meeting attended by sub county chiefs, town clerks, directors of private schools, members of the civil societies and community development program
Sensitizing communities and stakeholders on integrated early childhood development and home based learning.
The project which is funded by UNICEF will be implemented in a total of 11 sub counties and 2 town councils.
The program is targeting children between 0-8 years including the expectant mothers on proper feeding rights, Sanitation and hygiene and uptake of immunization.
The project has already commenced.
Ntungamo acting district education officer Fred Bahati revealed that early childhood development is very important since it is the foundation of life. He called on all the stakeholders to work jointly parents in ensuring that the program is a success.
Ntungamo district deputy chief administrative officer Fedelis Kiiza revealed that the district is committed to supporting education sector and asked all the stakeholders to support home learning and put to good use the material provided by the government and development partners.
Kiiza further urged leaders to mobilize the parents ,teachers and learners to ensure that they are ready for the planned reopening of schools.
