Parents have been cautioned to desist from the practice of neglecting their parenting responsibilities if nurturing the future generation is to be realized.

The call was today evening made by Ntungamo district chairperson Denis Singahache while speaking at a dialogue with a team of leaders from the districts of Butalega,Palisa and Namutumba who are on a visit in Ntungamo to share experiences.

Singahache revealed that most districts in the country are grappling with cases of child marriages saying that the political leader cannot single handedly address the challenge.

He further called on the leaders across the country and ensure that the students stay in school which he says keeps them away from temptations that could lead to getting married at young age.

The trip is funded by United states agency for international development.

The group coordinator Isaac Mweru who also doubles as the speaker for Butaleja district revealed that the trip has been very vital especially in the areas of education, health and production.

He also commended Ntungamo district leadership for what he referred to as having organized sectors.
