Ntungamo Deputy RDC Urges Leaders to Prioritize Access to Clean Water

Ntungamo Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Rosemary Atuhaire has urged local leaders to take the lead in ensuring that communities have access to clean and safe water.
Speaking at the conclusion of the district’s water planning and advocacy meeting held at the district headquarters, Atuhaire emphasized that access to clean water is essential for reducing disease outbreaks and improving productivity.
Ntungamo District Secretary for Finance, Elijah Atuhaire, called on district councillors to collaborate with both the government and local communities to enhance water accessibility.
District Water Officer Prosper Butubuura underscored the importance of sensitizing residents on maintaining water sources, noting that proper care would ensure their longevity and sustainability.
Itojo Sub-county Councillor Muhumuza Denis Savimbi echoed these sentiments, stressing that both leaders and the community must work together to safeguard water sources in their respective areas.
Ntungamo district deputy chief Administrative officer Fedelis Kiiza revealed that the district committed to ensuring that people especially those living in rural areas get access to clean water.
The meeting brought together district councillors and development partners to strategize on improving safe water coverage in Ntungamo.
