Kyabukuju Twimukye Sacco has recognized and rewarded the best-performing pupils in the 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) from its members' families.
During a ceremony held at Rubaare All Saints Church in Ntungamo, the Sacco awarded outstanding pupils with metallic suitcases, books, pens, bedsheets, and sizable mattresses.
Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Mr. Onesmus Karamuzi, emphasized the Sacco’s commitment to giving back to its members, both in times of joy and hardship, under specific terms and conditions. He noted that the awards were given to pupils who achieved a first grade with aggregates of eight (8) and below.
Mr. Karamuzi further explained that the initiative aims to motivate learners to excel in their studies and ease the burden on parents in purchasing scholastic materials. He also urged Sacco members to increase their shares, warning that in future, only those with at least ten shares would be eligible for such benefits.
Ntungamo District Commercial Officer (DCO), Mr. Ezra Aryanyijuka, and Rubaare Business Community Chairperson, Mr. Fred Muhinda, commended the Sacco leadership for its continued support to members. Mr. Aryanyijuka advised the pupils to remain focused in their studies and avoid negative peer influence to sustain their academic performance.
One of the beneficiaries, Kahinda Francis, expressed gratitude for the support and vowed to maintain high academic standards in secondary school.
