Head teachers are urged to champion the fight against malnutrition.

Head teachers in the Ntungamo area have been advised to lead the fight against malnutrition by informing students and their families about the need of adopting good feeding practices.

 

 At a meeting with the head teachers and extension workers to arrange for the Uganda Multi-Sectoral Food Security and Nutrition Project (UMFSNP), the Ntungamo district principal assistant secretary, Fedelis Kiiza, made the call.

Well-wishers donate 70 Mattresses and blankets to Rubaare Health Center IV.

A group of well-wishers, through the family of retired Brigadier General Samuel Kakuru, a resident of Rubaare town council, donated a total of 70 mattresses and 70 blankets to Rubaare Health Center IV in Rubaare town council in Ntungamo district.

The items were handed over to the facility this afternoon during a ceremony held at the facility.

While handing over the items, Rtd.Brigadier General Samuel Kakuru revealed that the items were procured with support from friends in the United States, where his daughter Jean Natukunda stays.

Ntungamo rewards sports stars.

Ntungamo district has this afternoon rewarded three pupils at the primary schools national kids athletics competitions for this year, held in Luwero district in May.

The pupils, who include Isaac Arinanye from Itojo (Gold medal) Boys Primary School, Elijah Angarikiremu (Bronze medal) from Kitunga Boarding Primary School, and Marvin Turyahikayo (silver medal) from Kabungo II Primary School, each got a medal.

Ntungamo authorities rally farmers to embrace irrigation.

Authorities in Ntungamo have embarked on a campaign to encourage farmers in the area to embrace irrigation.

Speaking during the benchmarking tour to Bushenyi district on Thursday , Ntungamo district Production officer Albert Mugabe revealed that the farmers in the district must adopt modern farming methods in a bid to improve production.

 

Mugabe revealed that challenges such as climate change result in crop failure, thus making it hard for farmers who solely rely on nature to survive.

 

Ntungamo defeats Isingiro in the Ankole District Football Tournament

Ntungamo district football team on Monday  evening defeated Isingiro district football team by 1-0 in a thrilling match played at Kyeirumba played ground in Isingiro district.

The match, which attracted hundreds of traveling fans from Ntungamo district, ended goalless in the first half despite the visitors dominance.

In the early minutes of the second half, Paul Mucurezi curved in through a free kick, throwing the visitors into a wild celebration.

Ntungamo workers are urged to prioritize human rights protection.

Civil servants in Ntungamo district have been urged to always prioritize human rights protection while executing their duties.

This call was made by the Ntungamo chief administrative officer, Mathias Ndifuna, while speaking at the dissemination meeting for the National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights held in the district council hall.

Ndifuna revealed that protection of human rights is vital and will only be realized by helping the communities fight poverty, which he said is on several occasions responsible for domestic violence.

Ntungamo locals asked to own government projects.

Ntungamo locals have been urged to always own the government programs that are always allocated to their entities if value for money is to be realized.

This call was made today by the Ntungamo district chairperson, Ntungamo Sam Muchunguzi, while speaking at the launch of the construction of the Kahunga-Nyarubaare-Kyangara road in Ntungamo Sub County, held at Kahunga Trading Center.

The chairperson revealed that the locals have a vital role to play in ensuring that the projects are realized and achieve their intended purpose.

Ntungamo youth urged to embrace modern diary management

The youth in Ntungamo have been urged to embrace modern diary management in a bid to fight poverty and unemployment. 

This call was made today afternoon by the RIPPLE effect, formerly known as send a cow program funding and communications manager Alex Bagora while speaking at a stakeholder meeting held at the Ntungamo Resort hotel.

Bagora revealed that the organization will be working with the youth in the district under the Youth Inclusive Diary Market System (YIDAMS), where they will be trained in modern diary management.
