Ntungamo gets 1.4Billion health facility

Ntungamo district local government has today afternoon received a 1.4 billion health facility constructed with funding from the government of Uganda through the ministry of health.
The new structures at Buhanama health center II will see the facility upgraded to a health centers III.
The works at the facility Included the facelift of the outpatient word, construction of a general and maternity wards, four staff units, toilet facilities, a placenta pit, a medical waste pit and connection to power grid as well as solar lighting.
Speaking at the handover of the facility, Ntungamo district vice chairperson Asuman Kigongo revealed that that the district was grateful for the new development and the quality of works executed by the contractor.
Kigongo also urged the locals and the health workers to put the facility to good use since all the vital facilities are now in place.
Ntungamo district chief administrative officer Mathias Ndifuna revealed that the district will work closely with the management of the facility to ensure that the facilities are maintained in good shape and serve the intended purpose.
Ntungamo secretary for health Bibiana Kakinoni urged the locals to always seek for health services on time and do regular checkups since the services are going closer to them.
Beatrice Chemisto the acting district health officer revealed that the new structures at the facility will spur better service delivery since services such as deliveries with now be conducted there. She revealed that the district was going to post more staff to the facility among the midwives to handle deliveries.
Dickson Wetaka an architect with Arch consults the project consultants revealed that the project was done as per the bills of quantities and the few snags identified will be handled by the contractors.
