Ntungamo Farmers Get 66 Cows Under OWC

 

A total of 66 cows have today afternoon been delivered to beneficiary farmers in the southwestern district of Ntungamo.

A total of 16 cows were given out to youth leaders in the area as part of a presidential pledge to them while the rest were issued out to individual farmers under the operation wealth creation.

Speaking at the hand over the cows to the beneficiaries at Ntungamo district headquarters, the chief administrative officer Ntungamo Kweyamba Ruhemba revealed that the beneficiaries are lucky to have been chosen urging them to take good care of them and ensure that they multiply.

 

Ampaire Sakina Imama the Ntungamo district vice chairperson urged the beneficiaries to desist from the practice of selling of the animals instead of putting them to their intended purpose

 

Brigadier John Tumwebaze the operation wealth creation coordinator for Ntungamo district revealed that the intended purpose of the animals is to fight malnutrition and improving soil fertility.

He revealed that the animals were procured by the NAADS Secretariat through operation wealth creation.
