Authorities in Ntungamo district have cautioned schools in the area against deviating from the school calendar by opening for a new term before the official opening date.

The warning comes amidst reports that some schools mainly privately owned have already opened for the 1st term of 2020 before the official Opening date which is 3rd February 2020.

Alfred Byamukama the Ntungamo district deputy chief administrative officer says that the district leadership has noted with concern that some schools are not adhering to the school calendar which is unlawful.

Byamukama says that the office of the District Internal Security officer in conjunction with the police have already started investigating schools which are said to be having pupils at school despite being time for holidays.

He further instructed all the sub county chiefs, Town clerks and all staff of Ntungamo district to provide authorities with information about the schools that are defying the school calendar.
