Service Commissions Urged to Uphold Transparency
By Anthony Kushaba
Ntungamo – Members of district service commissions across the country have been called upon to uphold transparency and integrity in their work to ensure the recruitment of competent public servants.
The appeal was made by Ntungamo Chief Administrative Officer, Fedelis Kiiza, while presiding over the swearing-in of Rev. Canon Joash Twinomujuni, who will represent persons with disabilities on the commission.
Kiiza noted that the district has made significant progress in prioritizing transparency and integrity but cautioned the public against fraudsters posing as commission brokers who extort money from job seekers.
At the same function, commission chairperson Alex Twebuze revealed that the body had faced challenges due to being incomplete. With the commission now fully constituted, he said they are ready to tackle pending work and serve job seekers more effectively.
The Ntungamo District Service Commission is chaired by Alex Twebuze, with Lay Canon Evah Kagimba representing urban councils, Engineer Tobias Karekaho as a member, Mary Uwagaga representing women, and Rev. Canon Joash Twinomujuni representing persons with disabilities for his second term.
