Ntungamo residents are urged to embrace the titling of their land.

Residents in Ntungamo district have been urged to embrace securing land titles in a bid to ensure that they add value to land as well as reduce the challenges of land grabbing.

 

The call was  today afternoon made by the vice chairperson of Ntungamo district, Asuman Kigongo, while speaking at the systematic land adjudication and certification workshop held in the district council hall.

 

Locals urged to embrace the COVID-19 booster vaccination.

Locals in the Ntungamo district have been to embrace COVID-19 booster vaccination in a bid to avoid the re-occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This call was this afternoon made Nesterio Twesigye the district health educator in Ntungamo while speaking at the district risk communication meeting held at the Ntungamo district boardroom.

He revealed that the district has disbursed VACCINES to all the health facilities and urged the locals to ensure that they do not miss out on the vaccination.

Ntungamo RDC rallies parents to take their children for COVID-19 vaccination.

Ntungamo resident district commissioner Geoffrey Mucunguzi has called on parents in the district and the entire country to embrace and support the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination for children.

 Mucunguzi who was on Saturday evening speaking to our reporter in Ntungamo town revealed that the vaccination for children between the ages of 12-17 is very important since it will help the children have the immunity to fight any outbreak of COVID-19.

RHITES-South west donates medical supplies to Ntungamo district worth 61m

RHITES-South West has donated medical supplies to Ntungamo district worth 61.3 million shillings.

The items which included a baby warmer, gloves, delivery beds, Laboratory equipment, baby weighing scales, IT equipment and hand washing facilities among others were handed over to the district leadership on Tuesday 24th May 2022.

Speaking at the handover of the items at Ntungamo district headquarters, Dr Moses Mera the director clinical services at RHITES-South west revealed that the move is aimed at enhancing and supporting health service delivery.

Ntungamo district vice chairperson Asuman Kigongo has called on the locals in the area to urgently embrace practices that are aimed at addressing climate change.

Kigongo who was this morning speaking at a district consultation meeting on the Decentralized climate change finance mechanism organized by the ministry of water and environment held at Ntungamo district headquarters revealed that there is an urgent need for Ugandans to take climate change as a priority and work towards checking the worsening situation.

Shortage of teachers hurting service delivery in Ntungamo.

Ntungamo district chairperson, Sam Muchunguzi, has revealed that the district is suffering from a serious shortage of teachers in the area, which is hurting service delivery.

Muchunguzi, who was speaking during a meeting with head teachers of primary and secondary schools held at the district council hall, revealed that it is challenging that the district continues to struggle while it is capable of doing better.

World Hemophilia Day will be observed in Ntungamo.

Ntungamo district will next week host the commemoration of World Hemophilia Day, scheduled to take place on April 11th and 13th, 2022.

The celebrations will be held under the theme "The theme of the event this year is "Access for All: Partnership. Policy. Progress. Involving your government and incorporating inherited bleeding disorders into national policy."

Ntungamo authorities call for proper officiation to reduce conflicts in sports.

Authorities in Ntungamo district have called for proper officiation in sporting activities in a bid to minimize conflicts and violence.

The call was today made during the preparatory meeting for the district’s head teachers’ association meeting held at Ntungamo district council hall.

Ntungamo district police commander Patience Baganzi revealed that while security is always on alert to secure the lives of the participants and fans,officiation should be done professionaly so that all the competitors are satisfied with the results.
