Ugandans urged to focus on ending stigma

Ugandans have been urged to always embrace tolerance and respect for one another in a bid to end stigma.

The call was made on Tuesday by Ntungamo district health educator Twesigye Nesterio while speaking at a district stakeholder engagement meeting on accountability for HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria and human rights held at Ntungamo resort Hotel.

The meeting was organized with support from the international community of women living with HIV in Eastern Africa (ICWEA).

Politicians Advised on Need to Pursue Further Studies

Ntungamo district local council five chairperson Denis Singahache has urged leaders in the district to focus on going for further education if they are to effectively serve their electorates and hold technocrats accountable.

 

 

Speaking at the function, Ntungamo district chief administrative officer Kweyamba Ruhemba urged the politicians to desist from corrupt tendencies which he says cripple service delivery

 

 

Poor State of Ntungamo Stadium Irks Leaders

Authorities in the southwestern district of Ntungamo are concerned over the poor state of the district stadium.

 

The facility set up in the early 1990's is the biggest spots facility in the district and used to host national and local events. 

 

The stadium currently hosted by Rubaare town council is now in bad shape with vandals targeting the materials used to construct it.

The gate was taken by yet to be identfied people a couple of year ago and bricks are also being taken away slowly but surely.
